Hail the Conquering Hero(ine)! Revisions Update

My first round of agent revisions for The Witch's Eye? Done.

Oh yeah, I rocked it. Well, I hope I did. Think I did? Totally not sure anymore?

The process was a good one, though now as I sit here in front of my laptop, the adrenaline high of pushing SEND fading from my befuddled mind, I'm just really really hoping Rockstar likes them.

In some ways, these revisions were actually harder than writing the novel in the first place. Sure, I had to crank out 75K words the first time around, but for better or for worse, I was driving the bus. Sure, beta readers gave feedback, but still the only person I was trying to please with my manuscript was ME.

(I'm so self-involved sometimes. Duh, I have a blog fer Christ's sake.)

Anyway, this time around, there was someone else invovled. The honeymoon over, I've got a co-pilot on this bus now, a navigator who (hopefully) is going to prevent me from driving this bus to Crazy Town (too late) and guide us safely into downtown Publishing Contractsville.

I think this metaphor has gotten away from me.

My point: I finished my revisions and sent them off and now I'm stressed out that I did a craptastic job on them. Geez, why couldn't I just write that in the first place?

  2. Ah, but at least now you finally have ONE audience member to revise for, instead of a random assortment of people who may or may not be the people you need to please. If you make Rockstar happy, it's all good.

  3. Very cool...I think writing revisions are a LOT harder than the original MS...best of luck.
