In fairness, Amy had to work today, too. Damn lawyers. Even on vacation, they're working. We did managed to squeeze in lunch and a glass of wine at Crime Lab on the gorgeous Vancouver marina. We thought it particularly a propos because Amy used to work in the Boston crime lab...before she was a lawyer. Yeah, if you think my career path was weird, you should take a look at some of my friends.Tonight we dined and drank on Granville Island, a kind of Farmer's Market/boutique shop district on the south side of Vancouver. Mostly locals, which was nice. Only so many tourists this L.A. girl can take in a given weekend. We partook of a local improv comedy stable at Theater Works, which launched Colin Mochrie and Ryan Stiles. We had fun (assisted by drinks 5 and 6 of the evening) though we didn't see anyone as funny as those two. Though there was a long-haired Winnipegan improver with a keener sense of timing than the rest. He was impressive.
We're still trying to figure out tomorrow, killing the afternoon hours before our flights home. Lots still we haven't seen. I'm liking Vancouver. Everyone is very polite (a novelty) and helpful and the city feels very tourist friendly.
Now if I could only score some Olympics tickets....
I'll bet the politeness factor in Vancouver is a shock to you, Miss. LA.
ReplyDelete1. I know the guy who came up with the whole bosu ball thing, and he's kind of an @sshole.
ReplyDelete2. Are you serious about Olympic tickets? 'Cause I know a guy.
Juan, deadly serious...
