Exhaustimicated

It's my own fault, really. But yanno, isn't that was Disneyland season passes are for?

My bestest friend Roy and I decided we needed to do something fun this weekend. Sunday afternoon at Disneyland sounded like such a good idea...but that was before Mother Nature decided to unload a heat wave of Biblical proportions on Southern California yesterday...

It was supposed to be lovely in Anaheim - 87 and sunny. Doable. Not my favorite way to do Disney (that would be overcast and 70) but not debilitating by any means. But the weathermen failed us. Yesterday's high in Anaheim? 101.

I'm melting! Melting! Oh, what a world! What a world!

But we is smart, we is. Waited until late afternoon to slowly plod our way out there (seriously, where were all those people going at 5pm on Sunday???) so we only had to do with about two hours of the hellfire heat. But man, there were some miserable looking people staggering around the park with soon-to-be blistering sunburns and dangerous levels of dehydration. I didn't envy them.

Oh, and totally OT, but why is that amusement parks seem to have a disproportionally high percentage of people wearing cropped pants and fanny packs? Seriously, ladies, not pretty.

Right, Disney. Got home late, schweating and tired. But it was a good day. Here's a lovely snapshot of Roy and I waiting for the fireworks to start. I would have taken a photo of the actual show, but I was too busy cooing like a wide-eyed eight-year old.

  1. Glad you survived the human melting pot! But...did you see Mickey? Or more importantly, Pluto? Because Goofy is just a dog wannabe, but Pluto is the real deal... :)

  2. 101 degrees? Geez, and I thought 80 was hot. It's getting summerlike here in Colorado too. Had a snowstorm this past weekend, 80ish today. Sigh--we're the state of bi-polar weather.
