And there's also a teeny, itty-bitty part of me that is a lazy, lazy slug.
I suppose, then, I could best be described as a Spasmodic Slug? Oooo. Attractive.
But I digress. (Stop looking at the slug!)
Today, in a fit of heretofore unexperienced productivity, I managed to complete one (1) rough beat outline for a sequel to THE WITCH'S EYE, tentatively* titled THE DEVIL'S STRAIN and one (1) slightly more detailed outline for a YA Paranormal (I think) that I'm calling BANISH for now.
Since starting a sequel to an as yet unrevised and unsold novel is pure folly, I'm focusing - for now - on BANISH. Teaser? Teen exorcist and the priests who love her. (Yeah, um, no one send this link to my mom, okay?) And to keep on track I'm
Dammit, mom, put down the cattle prod. I'm writing. I'M WRITING!
*I reserve the right to change the title based on requests from those who know more about publishing than I do.
P.S. If anyone can explain to me the difference between a Paranormal and Urban Fantasy, I will send you a cookie. Grazie.
I don't write either of those, but my take has always been... paranormal, think Twilight or other vampires, urban fantasy, think Dark Angel, Wanted, something gritty with the abnormality.
ReplyDeleteI totally know what you mean on starting new. My first (read: only) book was originally written over 5 years ago. It's been in editing ever since. Huge, major, overhaul kind of editing with new stuff in here and there, but the characters and base of it was there. I haven't started over like I'm doing now...in that time. So it's very scary, and yet exhilarating! I know my old characters backwards and forwards, but these people are new. It's like moving to a new school, and sitting by yourself at lunch and people watching till somebody invites you over. I think they finally invited me over and now I'm involved.
I got the progress meter too, and it instantly kicked me into gear! Good luck!
Thanks, Sharla. You too!
