POSSESS PLAYLIST!
I thought I'd raid Bridget's iPod today and give up a little taste of what's in heavy rotation. Her favorite tunes line up in three categories:
CURRENT FAVES
"The Fallen" by Franz Ferdinand
Franz Ferdinand is Bridget's favorite band, and this is her favorite song.
"Time to Pretend" by MGMT
I'm feeling rough, I'm feeling raw, I'm in the prime of my life...
"Kiss With A Fist" by Florence + the Machine
Kinda sums up Bridget's philosophy of love...
"Pumped Up Kicks" by Foster the People
All the other kids with the pumped up kicks, you'd better run, better run faster than my bullet.
"I Bet You Look Good on the Dance Floor" by Arctic Monkeys
How can you not love British punk that references Romeo and Juliet?
OLDIES BUT GOODIES
"Hysteria" by Muse
Bridget can't help but stomp around her bedroom in her steel-toed combat boots every time this song comes on.
"Bullet With Butterfly Wings" by Smashing Pumpkins
Bridget first heard this song on a Live 105 Flashback weekend. Despite of my rage I am still just a rat in a cage. Awesome. Then she got really into some old '90's music.
"Killing In The Name Of" by Rage Against the Machine
The song that's set as the ring tone on Bridget's cell phone. Apparently, Father Santos is a fan, too.
IN THE CLOSET
"The Cave" by Mumford & Sons
If anyone mentions "the banjo band", Bridget might roll her eyes, but secretly she adores them.
"Telephone" by Lady Gaga
Hector is the only one who knows this song exists on Bridget's iPod. And if he ever tells anyone, he won't live to see another day.
"Somewhere Over the Rainbow" by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole
Her parents danced to this at their wedding. Bridget's watched the video of that dance so many times since her dad's death she knows the song by heart...and it always makes her cry.

Somewhere over the Rainbow was my first audition song, so I have a soft spot for it. I played a squirrel in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe - a very dramatic squirrel, of course *g*
