mood: monday morning groggy
tv/ipod: dan patrick show on the 101
Because I've been blogging, tweeting, facebooking, foruming and generally pimping it for the last week, I think (I'm not sure but I think) you all know that the group vlog YARebels of which I am a member, will be launching just after the new year: January 4, 2010 to be exact.
Leah, Jen, Kody, Courtney, Victoria, Scott and I are pretty damn excited.
But a weekly vlog has its own share of pressure. Will we really be able to come up with 52 vlog topics in 2010? I mean, we're a relatively bright bunch, but that's a lot of creativity! So I thought it would be fun (read: please help me, pretty please with cupcakes on top) if you all made suggestions about topics you'd like us to talk about.
Fun, right? Fun? Anyone? Bueller?
There will be shout outs and if your topic is used, um, prizes. Sure, why not? PRIZES!
*checks under bed for potential prizes* Um, sock, missing earring, leaking pen, dust bunny, dust bunny. Er... PRIZES!
Dear Gretchen,
ReplyDeleteWhy are you so much cooler and sparklier than Edward Cullen?
Yours,
Courtney
Genetics: the Irish are ALWAYS sparklier than the Brits. Next question?
ReplyDelete( :P )
I could've sworn it was all the circus makeup ;-)
ReplyDeleteShhhh! You're spilling my speshul sekrit!
ReplyDeleteHow about movies that inspire your writing?
ReplyDeleteI like that one, Dee!
ReplyDeleteOh, Blond, you *are* sparkly. :)
ReplyDeleteHow about...an analysis of the YA market, ten years ago and today? No? Okay, fine--how about showing us what you need to set up your perfect writing nook. :)
Houndie, just for that I'm doing pie charts and a cost-ratio graph...
ReplyDeleteMmmmm...pie.....
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of cupcakes...that's a totally vlog worthy topic...right?
ReplyDeleteHell yeah! I had the most amazing Hot Buttered Rum cupcake this weekend. *swoons*
ReplyDeleteYou should totally do a musical post. I want to hear you all literally sing the praises of YA. :-D
ReplyDeleteBarring that, how about a post on the pros/cons of using pop culture in your story?
*stalks off wanting a cupcake*
I would love to hear about your favorite books when you were YA.
ReplyDeleteAnd I have to second the food topic. Hmm.. Maybe a dish inspired by your favorite book? Or a cupcake inspired by your favorite book? Yum!!
I'd like to know what your pre-writing rituals are. See, my farm has to be caught up. My cafe has to be bubbling away. Kids in bed. Headphones on. Pandora station set. Maybe a snack nearby. THEN (and only then) can I write. So, do any of you have pre-writing rituals?
ReplyDeleteDude, Elana totally stole mine. No fair! And yes, yes, cupcakes yummy. Mmm.
ReplyDeleteDo you have any, um, tics, or crazy habits with your writing? For instance, I can't have a chapter end with just a few lines on a page. I have to revise and edit to make every chapter's ending at least 1/4 or more down the page. Oh, am I just weird? Or does anyone else have crazy writing behaviors? No? Shucks.
Or there's the whole dreams-that-turn-into-books conversation. Like, what dreams you've had that totally wouldn't make it as a book, and some wacky ones that'd make for some real interesting plots.
And all I ask for my prize is one of those rum cupcakes of yours, lady!
YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteHow about music that inspires you? Not just your playlists, but like for me, songs have written entire scenes, sometimes even given me story ideas.
ReplyDeleteTHEN, in the background, you guys could do interpretive dances to them. That would be the shit!
