Blog Makeover - Thoughts?

Alright, it's not much of a makeover. But for someone like me (Gretchen + technology = EPIC FAIL) it was quite an experience. *sigh* Why can't I be an awesome computer layout fonty graphic design superstar?

Anyway - I made myself a custom title and revamped some layout and color and font thingies. I would love some feedback on the readibility!

Please?

Help me, Blogosphere. You're my only hope.

  1. Well, I love it!!! The colors are soothing and yet invigorating at the same time, kind of like snow-covered creek beds. (OK sorry about the weird analogy.)
I don't know what seanchai means, but I like it nonetheless. :-)

  2. Thanks, people! I was hoping the purple wasn't too hard on the eyes. Also a "seanchai" is an Irish storyteller.

  3. I like it. not hard to read at all. It's clean and simple. I think you did a great job customizing, especially the header.

  4. I can give you an opinion as a former web usability expert. I very much like the look of your blog. The one thing I would change is the light green color of the main font - the problem is that many people won't be able to pick up the contrast between the background and the font color for reading. The purple/pink font color shows up well against the green background - I think they are opposite colors on the color wheel they show for decorating.
So, if you wanted to, you could either darken the background color (matching one of the darker greens in your header - love the header btw!) or lighten/change the font color to one that contrasts more with the background). IMHO. But very nice job, nonetheless. :)

  5. I love it! could you match the greens on your web site - maybe that would help with the contrast Brooke mentioned. :) I love refreshed looks!

  8. It's cool perfect for winter and slightly mysterious /creepy -- in a good way!
I'm thinking of giving mine a shake up too!

  9. I love it. The lighter font over the darker background pic is pretty and effective, plus I love those stones. They just make me want to sit in lotus and chant, or something. :)
