First up, the WIP. I've managed to get over the hump, so to speak. The Escape is currently at 58K and I am hurtling towards the end. I've got 2 chapters to go for the end, then I need to go back and add some stuff I...skipped.
TANGENT: Why do I always do this? There's always a chapter near the beginning that I just cannot write. I dread it like I dread the dentist, the scale and swimsuit shopping. Its always a chapter that requires a lot of people, significant character development and plot advancement, all without completely stalling out the story engine like a Big Rig scaling K2. Idontwannawriteit. Idontwannawriteit. Idontwannawriteit. Idontwannawriteit. Idontwannawriteit.
/tangent
But I'm happy. This novel has been a long time coming and though its kind of out of left field for me, I had to write it. Let's just hope it doesn't suck donkey balls.
Next up, Operation Swimsuit. As you may have discerned from my tangent, I hate weighing myself and I hate wearing a swimsuit. But with my Puerto Vallarta trip a mere 9 weeks away, girl's gotta shed some of this whale blubber so the sport fishermen don't try and net me. So far, so good. I'm down 5 lbs in two weeks. I credit Fit Day with helping me keep track of my daily caloric intake. Totally makes a difference when you see how it all adds up and give yourself a goal. Grrr. Deadline. Deadline, Gretch!
So that's where I'm at. Keep your eyes peeled for another update as I think the first draft of the WIP should be done...soon...
You go girl!!
ReplyDeleteAnd your WIP isn't going to suck donkey balls. BTW: We have a chocolate company here called Chocolate Donkey Balls.
And awesome that you have already lost 5!! You know the 5 you lost? I think I found it. :P
Great progress on the WIP! And I totally know what you mean about one of those early chapter get-to-know-the-characters-and-their-relationship things. Why must they be so hard?
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the bathing suit thing!
keep plugging
ReplyDeleteMy dontwannawriteit moment is usually in the middle, in some crucial place like you said. Some life-altering character-developing plot-changing moment that freaks me out and scares the life out of me. Makes my blood flow backwards and makes me question if I really know how to do this whole writing thing!!
ReplyDeleteI have to stop and take that one section and break it down into baby steps, or it'll never see the light of day.
Good luck !!!
