Blog Roll! The Writers

I haven't done a blog roll in awhile, so I thought I'd dedicate today to some of my favorite writers who blog!

First up, there's the effervescent Cindy Pon whose "A Little Sweet, a Little Sour" blog is a must-read mix of food, publishing, her unabashed love for Anthropologie (which I share, must to the chagrin of my bank account) and all things writerly. And she's not just first because she posts photos of me - she really is that awesome.

Next, I'm pimping the blogs of some members of my critique group. These are some seriously talented writers, spanning genres from graphic novels to historical fiction, all of whom I respect more, perhaps, than they realize. YA Urban Fantasy writer Jen Hayley's blog was one of the first I ever followed. Her knowledge of the genre is unsurpassed. Two graphic novelists: Chandler Craig, whose "Fumbling with Fiction" blog has my favorite title of all time and Niki Smith, whose illustrations are inspiring. For you YA fans out there, also check out Shana Silver and the twisted sisters Lisa and Laura for a contemporary spin, Hilary Wagner, Jen K. Blom and Shelli Johannes-Wells are tearing up middle grade fiction, and if fantasy of all kinds floats your boat, you must check out Kerri O'Connell, Marissa Burt and Dorothy Winsor.

Not a YA/MG fan so much? No worries. Jill Myles is making it all kinds of sexy with her paranormal romances, Karen Duvall and Amy Bai will quench your urban fantasy thirst, Wendy Cebula is writing in the city for the contemporary woman and historical guru Sarah Eve Kelly will transport you to another time and place altogether.

And last, but very much not least: she'll scare you, she'll terrify you, she'll tweak you in ways you didn't know where possible. You have to check out the Flatlander Bryn Greenwood. Read her teasers at your own risk.

    I adore other writers who blog! I'm officially penciling in an 8-10 block this evening so I can spend some quality time with your recommendations.

    Who knows? This may unlocked the writer's block I've been suffering from this week.
