Back in the Saddle

mood: kicking ass and taking names
pandora/ipod: "renegades of funk" by rage against the machine

I'm writing again.

That sounds like such a simple thing: I'm a writer, thus I write. But for several months now, the idea of sitting down at the laptop and cranking out 1K+ words everyday has been more than daunting. It's been downright terrifying.

Don't get me wrong - I love to write. Usually. But there seems to be some sort of secret law of physics attached to the process of actually sitting down to start a project. Like Newton's Law of Motion...for Writers:
Every writer remains in a state of rest or uniform motion unless it is acted upon by an external unbalanced force.
In this case, the "unbalanced force" is an exciting, shiny new idea. And it's finally dislodged my writer's block.

I'd talk about it, but I can't. It's not a POSSESS sequel, so for now I shall just refer to it by it's temporary title: TEN. It has eaten my brain - in a good way, not a rabid zombie kind of way - so look out, people! I'm on a mission!

  4. Yay Gretchen!! It's hard to get that momentum back after a long writing hiatus, but always nice once you do. Personally, I'd like to resume of rest for a little bit, but that won't be happening for awhile. Oh well!
