I just wanted to thank you all for the outpouring of support I got earlier this week in regards to slogging through my WIP. I needed a good kick in the butt and leave it to the interwebz to provide just such cyberviolence! I hunkered down and hammered out one whole chapter.

So as thanks, I'm sharing just the opening of the POSSESS sequel, tentatively titled FORSAKE. Hope you like it! CUZ I WROTE IT JUST FOR YOU!!!!!

The room didn't want her there.

The burned out interior faded in and out of focus as if the fire that charred its walls and ceiling still smoldered within. Pools of water dotted the floor; their slimy surfaces glowed a disturbing shade of grayish green, reflecting a muted light that filtered through holes in the roof. A paneless windows marred the far wall where wisps of tattered curtains shuddered in the breeze.

Bridget wrinkled her nose. She could almost smell the mix of rotted wood and putrid water. She could almost feel the seething hatred emanating from the foundations of the room. It was a place of darkness and evil.

She couldn't stop smiling.
