I'm neck deep in revisions for BANISH right now, trying to balance the day job with the hours I need to put in on the manuscript to hit my first round deadline on Monday. Definitely a challenge as I sit at my desk desperately trying to concentrate on really uninteresting things like payroll, billing and A/R, while my brain is saying, "Oh, you know what would rock? If you moved that bit about Bridget's bracelet up to the beginning of Chapter 18 and then you're really setting up the reveal at the end of Chapter 21..."
STOP IT BRAIN! I CAN'T LISTEN TO YOU RIGHT NOW!
Is this how schizophrenia sets in?
Meanwhile, one coworker was warming up stanky Chinese food at 9am. Our long distance carrier had a massive power outage so we can't make any calls that aren't local. Another coworker swears at her cell phone everytime someone calls her. And my boss still isn't in. Oh and if one more person asks me to "fix" their email because it isn't running fast enough I'm going to scream. STOP USING HOTMAIL, YOU NEANDERTHAL!!!
Stay tuned to see how my sanity holds up...
Hang in there! And now, thanks to your song, all I can think of is JUNK.
ReplyDeletePpht. Sanity's over-rated. You can trust me on this - I have the psych degrees to back me up. *nods sagely*
ReplyDeleteYou can do eet!
Sanity? WHat's sanity?
ReplyDeleteGood luck. :)
Haha! Glad I'm not the only one; I'll stare at the computer screen when I have time to write, and then when I'm busy working or driving on the freeway I'll think, "Ooh! I know! The hot guys will meet each other, and it will be really awkward!" Then I'm distracted with trying to firm up the scene in my head when I'm supposed to be working.
ReplyDeleteI feel you, I do!
ReplyDeleteThrow stinky cheese balls at the coworker. I bet that'll make you feel better. :)
