Update! Update! Update!
Well kidlings, the update is that THE ESCAPE - my YA historical adventure spy multiple POV seafaring novel is done. DONE I SAY!
For now, at least.
I hit "SEND" yesterday and blasted that bad boy off to Rockstar Agent. Then I felt like I wanted to puke.
That's right! It never freakin' ends. First, you're stressed out that no agent will ever love your novel. Then you find an agent that loves your novel and from that point on you're stressed out that he or she will never love another of your novels ever again. It's a never-ending shitticane, people. Get used to it.
So the Escape is done. I swear it wasn't three hours later and my brain was already thinking, "What next, dillhole?" Oh shit, good question! There's a sequel, of course, but my superstitious Irish self refuses to write it until the first sells so I resign myself to self-torture, obsessing over a plot. Meanwhile I need a new project. Why? BECAUSE THAT'S HOW I AM! There's no circus going on, I've just got the one torturous semi-boring job so I need at least one more thing in my life. Oh, and NaNo is rapidly approaching. I've yet to participate in National Novel Writing Month but I thought this would be a good year to do it.
Only I need a story!
And that's where you come in lovely, lovely readers. See the pretty poll? WELL VOTE IN IT ALREADY! Seriously, I'm losing my mind over here. I can't decide which I like better and while you're not getting details, I hope these little loglines entice you towards a choice. Poll is open til next Tuesday at midnight. And even though Rockstar's opinion will outweigh all of you by...a lot, your collective Interwebz opinion means the world to me.
Help me, Seanchai readers. You're my only hope!
OK, I did it!
ReplyDeleteGO YOU!! I just sent mine to my agent, as well! Can you move over? I need to use the toile **puking sound**
Let me know which you pick!
Yay for you! Okay, I voted. But are any speaking to you more than the others?
ReplyDeleteI just voted too. Maybe there's a way you could morph all of your ideas into one super ultimate WIP?
ReplyDeletePJ - some of them are more fleshed out with plot than others. Three of them actually have at least a chapter. None of them have a full plot though. Haven't devoted enough brain time to them yet for that!
ReplyDeleteAnna - that would be the most confusing book ever!
Haha! I voted for Juvie Break. You know me, if I can get a criminal into a book, I will.
ReplyDeleteVoted!
ReplyDeleteYou so need to do the paranormal office comedy, given the wealth of material you have to work with.
I voted, but they all looked intriguing, depending upon what you do with them. Quite an imagination there, missy!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite idea was actually the office comedy meets the X-files, but I didn't vote for it because I wondered how much YA readers could relate to either concept, but that's just me.
my first choice was cozy theatre
ReplyDeletemystery. i like the setting. my
second would be para office x files!
Ooo, I'm all about the paranormal office x-files. Love that idea!
ReplyDeleteLove the idea of the office meets the x-files. Your facebook status updates about your coworkers are hilarious - I think you need to do that one. :)
ReplyDeleteVoted! Hard choice, but the stories of your coworkers are great - office comedy all the way.
ReplyDeleteI went with YA Paranormal/Office Comedy (The Office meets The X-Files). I just envisioned this generation's Ghostbusters.
ReplyDeleteVoted!! And looks like I picked the popular. I can see you doing the first very well! :D

Oh, wow, I can't choose. which do you want to write the most?
ReplyDeleteI think something involving your theater background might be good though...
ReplyDeleteI voted, but it was a tough decision. With your coworkers giving you material though, I decided on the office comedy.
ReplyDeleteOh snap, you can vote more than once! It's like a Chicago election.
